One of the challenges that I have had a difficult time adjusting to, since being married, is dinners. Specifically meal planning and, well, you know, “delivering” on the plan. As someone who was single well into her forties, dinner, when I felt like it, was a yogourt, or a bowl of cereal, or *shudder* something frozen that was dumped into the microwave.
Since being married however, I discovered that a bowl of cereal for dinner just doesn’t wash with my other half. He’s a construction worker. And that means he is just plain hungry when he arrives home.

Enter the Knorr What’s for Dinner App. It’s an application that you can access from your computer, or your smart phone, and figure out a quick, healthy dinner for your family in the aisles of the grocery store! Why do I know this? Because I was standing in the grocery store aisle when I discovered that the package I needed to make the dinner I had chosen wasn’t stocked by my local store. So I went with Plan B, pulled out my iPhone and hoped like heck that I would be able to access Knorr’s app on my phone. It worked. I picked out a new dinner – and I think it worked out even better, because I made my decisions based on the available fresh vegetables in store that day.
As it turned out, I didn’t even need the app, because the recipe that I picked to make, the Chicken Caesar & Pasta Dinner was listed on the back of the package. All I needed to make this yummy dish was Knorr Sour Cream & Chives Pasta, Chicken, a little lemon juice, garlic, parmesan cheese (I used a peccorino), mayonaise and frozen beans. You’ll notice I have asparagus and mushrooms in the picture. That’s because my husband and I aren’t fans of green beans, so I simply grilled the asparagus and mushrooms first, and then completed the recipe as per the instructions on the back of the envelope.
Dinner was quick, easy and very tasty. And my hubby? He loved it! And so did I!
Thanks Knorr for making my meals a little less stressful to prepare. And thanks to Mardi at Eat. Live. Travel. Write for letting me know about the Knorr app!
That looks really tasty and hey, I, too, struggle with getting meal plans under control!
Thanks for taking a peek at my post! Meal planning truly drives me crazy. I am getting better at it – which is good, it means we eat out less frequently – but it can still be a struggle!
